Coordinator's Corner

December 2009 - By Allison L.

It is hard to believe that we are already into the swing of the holiday season!  For some of us, the days seem to go by quickly and we may not always remember to enjoy this special time of year!  It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season that we often forget to take a step back and enjoy the special moments with family and friends!  I encourage all of you to do just that – take some time to stop worrying about shopping, wrapping presents, cooking, cleaning or any other of the “tasks” associated with the holidays and enjoy some relaxing (if you can!) time with your families and friends.  Take some pictures and make some memories.  We’ll all be glad we did!

As the year draws to a close, it’s also a good time to start thinking about 2010 and getting Mothers First off to a great start in the new year!   To that end, I have a few items to address:

  1. If you have not done so already, please email Sharon K. (if you have not done so already) and let her know what committee you would like to actively participate in for 2010. Click here for the full list of committee descriptions.
  2. Please get this information to her by December 10.  Please remember this deadline and help us avoid having to track people down during the busy holiday season!

In January, we will transition all Mothers First positions to the new Coordinator or Coordinator Team and Committee Chairs.  If you are new to Mothers First, this is a great opportunity for you to become more involved with the group.

  1. Please contact Sharon K. (see membership directory for contact details) with any questions or to learn which committee would be a good match for you.
  2. Please keep your eye out for the Evite with our 2010 Kick Off Meeting at Hosanna Lutheran Church!  The meeting will be in January and we ask all members to try to attend.  We will have nursery care available for children over 12 months.  We will announce the date ASAP.

Finally, I am requesting that all sustained Mothers First members consider helping out by signing up to be on a committee in 2010.  A little help really does go a long way and we could really use your expertise with our events and activities.  Wishing all of you a wonderful, happy and healthy holiday season.  I am happy to be part of such a wonderful group of mothers and look forward to another great year in 2010!
